To celebrate the launch of Our Towns, we have SIX live painting opportunities for local artists!
On Saturday 11th September, we’re taking over a public square in Basildon to launch the Our Towns street art programme. As part of the celebrations we want to give local artists a platform to showcase their skills, shining a light on the creative talent that resides in Essex and the surrounding areas.
The successful applicants will receive a £250 fee for the day with all paints provided (both spray and acrylic).
You will be painting on a board measuring 3.6m (w) x 2.4 m (h)
how to apply
There are two ways in which you can enter:
(1) Submit via Instagram
(A) Follow @ourtownsbas
(B) DM your bio and an overview of your work
(C) Include website and social media handles
(D) Include a statement about what community means to you.
(2) Submit via email

Please include: A bio and an overview of your practice, 5-7 images of your work, website and social media handles and a statement about what community means to you.
You must be available to paint on 11th September 2021.
All submissions must be received by 30th August and will be reviewed by a steering group of local residents and business owners.The selected artists will be notified by email on 3rd September with an official invitation.
